Lea Tufford
Laurentian University
Lea Tufford is a Professor of Social Work at Laurentian University. Child abuse and neglect is an area of research for Lea with specific attention to social worker decision-making when reporting abuse and neglect and how the therapeutic relationship is maintained. Her first book, Child Abuse and Neglect in Canada: A Guide for Mandatory Reporters was published by Oxford University Press in 2020. Her second, co-edited book, Trauma-Informed Care in Social Work Education: Implications for Students, Educators, Pedagogy, and Field, was published by Routledge in 2025. Lea has also researched and written extensively on simulation-based teaching.
