Carmen Ross, MA, R. Psych, is a registered psychologist licensed with the College of Alberta Psychologists, a Field Placement Coordinator at Concordia University of Edmonton, and a foster parent. As a psychologist, she specializes in working with youth and adults who have experienced developmental, relational, and complex trauma. She also works with parents and caregivers of children and youth with trauma histories. As a field placement coordinator, she supports the human service field through the development of new professionals and partnership with organizations that serve children and youth who have experienced trauma (e.g., Child and Family Services, Office of the Child and Youth Advocate, Catholic Social Services, etc.). Most importantly, as a foster parent, she witnesses and participates in the day-to-day life of children who live with the consequences of prenatal and early life trauma. Her unique combination of extensive training, therapeutic practice, and lived experience lend her specialized insights and perspectives to the conversation about child and youth trauma in Canada.
