Denis Lafortune

Denis Lafortune, PhD, is a Full Professor of Criminology at the Université de Montréal. His program of research is organized around five components; 1) the portrait and trajectories of young offenders in general, and violent and sexual offenders in particular, 2) the use of psychotropic drugs among adolescents and adults in institutions, as well as compliance with prescriptions, 3) incarcerated adults who suffer from mental health problems, and the interventions carried out with them, 4) the institutional management of severe behavioural disorders, particularly in terms of intensive supervision and all restraint measures, 5) mentalization and coping strategies as possible factors in moderating the relationship between maltreatment and the manifestation of behavioural disorders.
