Kyle Turone

Kyle Turone

Kyle Turone is a social worker and researcher based in British Columbia whose work focuses on trauma-informed and equity-centered practice with children, youth, and families. He holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria and a Master of Social Work from the University of British Columbia

Kyle has contributed to the Canadian Consortium on Child and Youth Trauma since 2022, supporting knowledge mobilization and research advancing relational and systemic approaches to trauma. A former research assistant with UBC’s Centre for the Study of Services to Children and Families, his work has examined fairness and belonging for children raised by relatives.

He is the co-author of “Promoting Safety and Belonging for 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth in Care” (2025) in the Review of Education, Childhood, and Youth Studies and Supporting Equitable Transitions to Adulthood for Youth in Care in British Columbia (2023) with the Child Welfare League of Canada.

Kyle currently coordinates the Consortium’s monthly Journal Watch, serves on its Advisory Committee, and is an active member of the National Council of Youth in Care Advocates, promoting equitable systems and transitions for young people across Canada.
