Marie Saint-Girons, MSW, is the program manager for the Canadian Consortium on Child and Youth Trauma at McGill University. She contributes to the Consortium’s strategic development and leads the implementation of its seven Canada-wide projects, coordinating the teams, resources, and partnerships that support them. Her work aims to foster connections between research, practice, and experiential knowledge in the field of trauma among children and adolescents.
Previously, she led the coordination of ECIPN-2019, a national study on reports of violence and neglect against First Nations children. She has also coordinated analytical and documentation work used in proceedings before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and in class-action lawsuits seeking compensation for First Nations children and families.
She is interested in the mechanisms that shape trauma and healing at the individual and community levels, as well as the role that research can play in improving practices, services, and systems for children, youth, and their families.
