Tonino Esposito, Ph.D., is a full professor at the School of Social Work at the University of Montreal, an associate professor at the School of Social Work at McGill University, and the scientific director of the Institut universitaire Jeunes en difficulté (IUJD), affiliated with the CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal (CCSMTL). Former holder of the Canada Research Chair in Social Services for Vulnerable Children, he is also a member of the board of directors of the Canadian Child Welfare League of Canada, a member of the Child Welfare Inequalities Network, a member of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, and associate editor of the international journal Child Abuse & Neglect. His work aims to better understand the systemic, socioeconomic, and proximity factors that keep children in chronic care with youth protection services and negatively impact parents' ability to fulfill their responsibilities. Several of his CRC-led projects examined the trajectories and outcomes of children involved in youth protection services and the influence of social spending, socioeconomic vulnerabilities, and community services for children and families.
