Explore our series of inspiring bilingual video modules designed to make the complex topic of child and youth trauma accessible and engaging. This project brings together more than 50 experts from across Canada to shed light on what child and youth trauma is, the many forms it can take, and how we can promote resilience and recovery.
Grounded in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Three Es framework - Event, Experience, and Effect - the modules examine trauma across multiple contexts, including the home, peer relationships, identity and social environments, as well as historical and intergenerational experiences.
The series unpacks how trauma shapes children’s and adolescents’ lives in ways that go beyond mental health symptoms, including its impact on development, attachment, and everyday life. It also provides strategies for trauma- and violence-informed care, introduces trauma-specific services, and offers opportunities to reflect on what resilience means from diverse perspectives.

Text Version: A more comprehensive and detailed written version of the video's content.
Glossary: A document lists the key terms and concepts for each module.
Reflection Questions: A document that contains suggestions for further discussion based on the content of each module.
Key Resources: A living document that brings together suggestions for deepening your knowledge throughout the various modules. The resources provided are not limited to a single module: since the content is interconnected, a resource added when a later module is launched may also be relevant to previous modules. The document is therefore expanded and updated as new modules are launched.
