CISSS de Chaudière-Appalaches

The mission of the CISSS de Chaudière-Appalaches and its two divisions, the Youth Protection Division and the Youth Program Division, is to maintain, improve and restore the health and well-being of the region's population, by providing access to a range of integrated, high-quality health and social services that also contribute to social and economic development. With close to a hundred facilities in 136 municipalities, users are at the heart of the organization of services and are involved in the decisions that concern them, ensuring that their needs are met on an individual basis. A lasting partnership with the various players in the community helps to achieve its mission. The continuous improvement of services, the promotion of innovations emerging from the field, the sharing of expertise and the integration of evidence-based data into practices all contribute to this. While promoting the values of humanism, collaboration and equity, the CISSS de Chaudière-Appalaches achieves its mission by relying on a committed, competent and caring workforce of nearly 14,000 employees and 800 physicians.

More specifically, the mission of the Youth Protection Department is to offer children and adolescents, as well as their parents and loved ones, specialized services aimed at ensuring their protection, promoting their empowerment, clarifying their life project and carrying out their adoption project. The youth program, for its part, provides services to families (young people and parents) at home or in schools, contributing to the well-being and the support of these individuals, bringing together a plurality of professionals equally committed to the mission. In addition to their specific missions, these two departments have the complementary task of collaborating in the prevention of child abuse, as well as informing and sensitizing internal and external partners and the general public to the needs of children and their families.
