Rachael Pascoe (she/her) is a Research Coordinator at the Institute for Mental Health Policy Research (IMHPR) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). She earned her PhD in social work from the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work (FIFSW), University of Toronto in 2025. She holds an HBA in Health Studies (2012) and an MSW (2014), both from the University of Toronto. Her clinical experience spans addiction and mental health, sexual violence prevention, and trauma therapy for youth. Her SSHRC-funded doctoral dissertation examined the impact of group therapy on shame, masculinity, and hope among male adolescents who have sexually offended. Using mixed methods, she assessed quantitative changes from group participation and conducts qualitative interviews, analyzed through constructivist grounded theory and symbolic interactionism. Rachael was the Clinical Evaluation Specialist for the PHAC-funded Project Youth AFFIRM, a CBT group intervention for LGBTQ+ youth developed by Dr. Shelley Craig, contributing to its clinical and research implementation. She has supported Dr. Shelley Craig on LGBTQ+ youth mental health research through INQYR since 2018 and worked with Dr. Ramona Alaggia as an RBC Fellow at the Child and Youth Trauma Research Incubator (ThRIve) (2024-2025), analyzing data on child abuse disclosures. A member of the University of Manitoba’s Childhood Adversity and Resilience Research Training Platform (CARe RTP) with Dr. Ashley Stewart-Tufescu and Dr. Tracie Afifi, Rachael is committed to improving interventions for underserved populations. She has taught clinical practice social work courses and maintains a small private practice.
